Instruction to make Coffee Art

Postby RickWarren » 26 Dec 2012, 01:58

Hi Friends,

1. Fill a cold pitcher with 1 cup of cold milk.

2. Steam and stretch the cold milk until it is at body temperature.

3. Tuck the wand into the milk and stir, creating a clockwise whirlpool. When the milk reaches 155 degrees F, shut the machine off.

4. Tap the pitcher on the counter a couple of times until the microbubbles come to the top, creating a smooth layer of foam.

5. Pull the espresso shot into a large cup. It helps if the espresso has a thick cream. Cut the espresso shot before it turns white.

6. Tap the milk pitcher once more on the counter and give it a swirl to mix the steamed milk and foam together .

7. Slowly pour the milk down the middle of the espresso, directing the flow through the cream down to the bottom.

8. Move your pitcher backward when the foam breaks through the cream while swinging it gently and evenly from side to side. The foam moves across the top of the cream, making a leaf design.

9. Pour a thin, brief stream of milk through the center of the design to create the stem of the leaf when the foam has broken all the way through the surface.

Thanks
Rick Warren

It sounds really easy, but I prefer it prepared by a barista. ;)

I just found a wonderful slide-show on how to How to Draw a Rosetta on Your Coffee. I'm sorry I cannot post the whole process here but you can click the link above. It seems so easy to make that even I could do it! (at least, I hope so :d )

Too many steps, Rick. I wouldn't make it alone - need a coffee partner, or would better order it in a coffee shop. :d
