Changes in my life

Postby peter » 28 Dec 2009, 05:26

It has really changed my life and you know why? Well, coffee helped me get my current job. A time ago I was sitting in a coffee house in a bad mood after some desperate attempts to find some job when a person took a sit next to me. I didn't draw attention to this and continued drinking my coffee. The man asked me if I knew some ancient legend about the drink and I answered "yes" and told him the Kaldi shepherd goats story I read about recently. I didn't even noticed how we started an interesting conversation. After circa 2 hours of an amicable talk, we said goodbye to each other but not before we exchanged our phone numbers.
3 weeks passed by and no sign of work at all. You can imagine my inner state - I was capable to do any labor to just earn my living when a sudden call wakened me up from all those thoughts. The call was from my coffee house acquaintance who turned to be a coffee site owner. He needed a person with good knowledge in coffee and writing skills (I used to write articles some time ago and was said I was good doing that) and decided to give me a chance since I had no job. I was so glad, you can imagine, I bet :-) And now I have the greatest job in the world, I work with the most interesting people and have a good salary. And all this happened thanks to my coffee devotion :x

I'm so glad for you Peter! It happens seldom enough where something that you like and enjoy helps you in a way or another to solve some problems or find your way in life. Congratulations! ~o) ~o) ~o)

You’re Drinking Too Much Coffee When:

--You ski uphill.
--You speed walk in your sleep.
--You answer the door before people knock.
--You sleep with your eyes open.
--You just completed your third sweater today, and you don’t know how to knit.
--You grind your coffee beans in your mouth.
--You have to watch videos in fast-forward.
--The only time you’re standing still is in an earthquake.
--You lick your coffee pot clean.
--Your eyes stay open when you sneeze.
--The nurse needs a scientific calculator to take your pulse.
--You can type sixty words a minute with your feet.
--You don’t sweat, you percolate.
--People get dizzy just watching you.
--People can test their batteries in your ears.
--Your birthday is a national holiday in Brazil.
--Your Thermos is on wheels.
--You can outlast the Energizer Bunny.
--You don’t even wait for the water to boil anymore.
--You don’t tan, you roast.
--You soak your dentures in coffee overnight.
--You think CPR stands for “Coffee Provides Resuscitation.”
I don't have a problem with caffeine. I have a problem without caffeine!

The 'stranger' must have seen some good qualities in you. Imagine if you had assumed the person was just any other idler? Coffee dates have helped me make friends. There is a certain joint in town I like to hang out in. I am assuming there is a potential employer in the offing.

What a wonderful story, thanks for sharing it here. I cannot imagine a better job than that for a coffee loving writer, every day must be heaven. What kind of writing is it? I hope you get to drink lots of coffee, all in the name of research of course. :)

I envy you. Probably your firm supplies you with all:
- various coffee (from all over the world to describe it)
- tourist permits in coffee places

Probably you will write the book about coffee...

You are Lucky =)
Some things in life are better rich. . . coffee, chocolate, men.

Most of my nine children are grown and children of their own. We all live on the same piece of property and have busy lives. I home school my grandchildren and except for that, I saw very little of my own. Well, one Sunday morning about 5 years ago, my oldest son knocked on my door at about 6:30 am. He had in his hand 1/2 dozen donuts and fresh ground coffee. Since then, four more of my children show up Sunday morning and stay until Brunch; which my daughters cook. I instilled in them a love of coffee and the habit of taking some quality time for self.
