Is it possible that we use coffee as watercolors? I thought about this because coffee on shirts will leave stains. I will experiment on this and see what I will come up with. I'm not an artist though so I'm not sure if I can make a masterpiece.
It's amazing that someone could make such detailed pieces of art out of coffee, but it's very possible. I only wish that I had that much talent to try something like that.
If you make something sweetener, show it off! I'd love to take a peek!
Yeah, I think there's nothing impossible in painting with coffee. There are certain techniques which only painters know, I think. But if make a bold coffee you could also try your artist skills
Those are truly works of art. I was thinking about abstract art and just scroll the brush on a drawing pad without thinking too much about the details. I can never replicate the paintings that are posted on that website.
Wow, I've never thought about using coffee as paint before! I knew you could use it to stain stuff for mixed media collages/scrapbooking/etc, but paint? Definitely checking out that Hubpages page! Thanks for the link and the idea.
I was intrigued by the topic so I did extra readings. Indeed there are coffee artists who use coffee as painting medium, one goes by the name of Karen Eland. Her love of coffee led to a collection of coffee paintings. Here is one of her works, inspired by Da Vinci's famous creation and aptly titled Mona Latte.
Hcafe and Sweetener- Thanks for sharing the links and photos! Truly impressive artwork. The topic really intrigued me, and during my research I came across a fantastic video on artists Angel Sarkela-Saur and Andrew Saur and their Coffee Art Exhibition: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGNZMwj83hg Pretty amazing work!
I had no idea that coffee could be used as an artistic medium to such great effect. I had only heard of coffee being used in art to stain things to make them look aged. I am really impressed by the art work shown in the links. If I was an artist, I would try this.
Yes, it is possible to use coffee as water colors. I read an article about that, she used coffee as a water color. She used decaf or regular, but in instant form, cheap 99 cent store coffee. She used it like a water color, just add water to dilute and layer for stronger values or use very heavy mixture.
