Coffee Recipes For Entertaining

Postby ShielaB » 28 Apr 2010, 09:00

I am having a dinner party in a couple of weeks and I would like to make something different than just plain coffee for after. I don't have a cappuccino machine so are there any good coffee recipes that I could make?

Hi SheilaB! Here's what I've found on the web, think you'll like it :-)

Mexican Coffee

Mixing your spices before you brew can add flavour so easily. This is a particularly sweet way to serve up a cup of coffee, with generous amounts of chocolate and brown sugar.

Ingredients:
125ml ground coffee
80ml chocolate syrup
1 tbs cinnamon
250ml milk
60ml brown sugar
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp vanilla

Preparation:
Before brewing, combine coffee, cinnamon and nutmeg. Brew however you like. In another small saucepan, heat brown sugar, syrup and milk. Stir until sugar is melted and dissolved. Pour sugar mixture into hot coffee, and add vanilla.

Enjoy! ;)

Orange Sunrise Cocktail

Add a little citrus zest to your cup, with some orange vodka. You might be surprised at how well orange blends with coffee. It's both tangy and mellow.
Ingredients:
1 cup of coffee
1 1/2 shots of Kahlua
1 shot of orange vodka (such as Absolut's mandarin)
Preparation:
Stir coffee, Kahlua and vodka together in a mug or glass. Top with whipped cream, if desired.
Coffee Should be Black as Hell, Strong as Death, and Sweet as Love
