Coffee Frosting

Postby Nicole » 12 Dec 2010, 10:26

Here is a chocolate and coffee frosting, that I use on my cakes cakes. This frosting has a great texture and can be spread easily. You don't even need a set of scales for this one.

Ingredients:
1 tsp coffee crystals
1/4 cup milk or cream
1/4 cup cocoa powder
5 cups caster sugar
6 tbs butter
1 1/2 tsp vanilla

Preparation:
Blend everything together until smooth and spreadable. Makes enough for a 13x9 cake.

Once you have tried this, you will love it!

Coffee Frosting – Carmel’s Cinnamon Cream

1-cup softened butter
3-cups Icing sugar (Confectioners Sugar/Powdered Sugar) sifted TWICE
2 Teaspoons Instant Coffee Granules (Crushed into fine powder) or powdered instant coffee.
1 teaspoons vanilla extract
1-heaped teaspoon Ground Cinnamon

Full Fat Milk added to achieve required consistency

Using hand held electric mixer/beater, whip butter, vanilla, icing sugar until smooth and creamy, take your time, as you need it to be light, fluffy.

Then add coffee and cinnamon, whip some more. Add Milk little by little whilst whipping to achieve desired consistency.

This one totally sensational frosting and can be used on Coffee Flavored Cake, Dark Moist Chocolate Cake, or if you add your favorite Liqueur to the mix instead of Milk on almost any cake you like!

Where do you guys get these recipes and ideas? I've never heard of making coffee frosting. I'm not sure if I would want frosting that has coffee in it.
