Gingerbread Latte

Postby javafreak » 19 Oct 2010, 09:23

With the holiday season almost upon us I came across this great recipe I am going to try. In a coffee mug mix 2 fluid ounces espresso coffee and 2 tablespoons gingerbread flavored syrup. Pour in 1/2 cup steamed milk. Top with 1/8 cup whipped cream and sprinkle with 1pinch ground nutmeg,1 pinch ground cinnamon, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla powder. I love gingerbread so this sounds delicious.

Homemade Gingerbread Latte
5-oz hot coffee (2/3 cup)
3-oz hot milk (1/3 cup)
2 1/2 tsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp molasses
pinch ground cinnamon
pinch ground cloves
pinch ground nutmeg
pinch ground ginger
whipped cream

Combine coffee, sugar, molasses and spices in a coffee mug and stir to combine. Top off with hot milk. Finish with whipped cream and a sprinkle of additional spice for garnish.

Makes one 8-oz drink. Increase all amounts slightly for a larger cup size. Recipe can be scaled up to flavor a whole pot of coffee, as well.

I think you don't have to be a great barista to prepare this yummy...Just add some gingerbread to your latte and enjoy it! :d For any other ingredients use your own discretion! ;)

Here's another recipe:
Enjoy!

1/2-1 fluid ounce gingerbread-flavored syrup (seasonal in some markets)
4 ounces espresso
4-5 fluid ounces steamed milk
2-3 tablespoons frothed milk or whipped cream (optional)
1 pinch ground cinnamon

Measure syrup into serving mug or cup.
Brew espresso, and steam the milk, producing a small amount of frothed milk, or crema.
Add espresso to mug or cup, then steamed milk, and top with froth/crema (or whipped cream, if desired). Sprinkle lightly with ground cinnamon and serve.
