Coffee gives up its position

Postby michael » 01 Apr 2010, 03:00

Have you heard that coffee growing is no longer successfull as it has been years before? The amount of coffee grown around the world lowers. Doest it mean that people don't want buying coffee anymore? Or they stopped drinking it in the amounts they did this before?

I suggest people think they make more saving with the world crisis and don't throw everything they thought tasteless before. But maybe other reasons could be that people have decided to care more about health??? :-?

I didn't know that but it isn't me! I drink more than my share of coffee! I think a lot of it might be health reasons as they say coffee isn't good for you because of all the caffeine in it.

I hadn't heard that either. I wonder why people are buying less? I wonder if it's the health thing. Very odd to me. I have not changed what I drink either. So I'm doing my part!

Everything seems to give up its positions these days, not only coffee :-( But I blame crisis for this fact. Maybe it's not right but who else can we blame for that?

Maybe that's due to lots of energy drinks gaining popularity these days.. Though I've heard that coffee sales increased recently vice versa.. Maybe that depends on some specific local markets..

Could be health or could be cost. I don't know about any where else but around here it's been going up in price steadily. Coffee is one thing I am NOT cutting out of my budget though.

I've heard that coffee consumption leveled off but there has been some growth in the area of gourmet coffee. Plus, about 100 mln. people in the US are coffee drinkers. So there is some hope! :)

Shows that people think making more storage capacity with the world crisis and don ' t throw all have no taste. But maybe other reasons may be that people have chosen to care more for their health?

Good news! Brazil has experienced a moderate decline in coffee production in December 2011 but expects to see improved coffee production in 2012 and 2013.

I think coffee growing could give up its position because of poor weather, law rainfall, etc. And not because we stopped drinking coffee ;)

It seems that everybody is drinking it, so can't see why it would ever lose its position!
