Your personal experience

Dear members! I think you might find this topic unuseful since there is a whole article dedicated to this theme on our site www.coffee4dummies.com. However, I call upon to share your personal experience with us. Here you can give your ideas about roasting, grinding and brewing coffee beans; the perfect temperature, the right device, the method you use and so on. I'm eagerly waiting for your thoughts :)
Yeah, that's me ;)

Good morning everyone! I'm new to this forum and haven't even manage to introduce myself. Well, my name's Michael and I'm from Luxembourg. Coffee is one of the reasons I still enjoy this gloomy life (joke :D ). I prefer roasting beans on my own. My favorite level of roast is the medium dark color phase, though it depends on my mood if to be sincere. I also like blending - the beans which I blend are not of a similar roast which gives my final brew an excellent taste and aroma. I like experimenting with the roast and brew so that my cup of coffee has always something different, not resembling anything. I cannot give you the name of my coffee devices - these are simply "no names"appliances, so I cannot be of no use here. However, I think the main condition is a good quality beans and some experience - the only things that matter, imho.
Well, I've been a little talkative here but it really gave me a pleasure sharing my thoughts with you. Thanks for giving me this opportunity :) I'll be back :D

Nice post, Michael and I totally agree with you! I don't use any brand devices and am very satisfied with my equipment. I do prefer coffee prepared by me to any other coffee...

I like grinding the beans - it's one of my favorite occupations ;) I like various levels of grinding and it gives me an enormous pleasure to see the result of my diligence :-)

I would love to be able to roast my own beans, where do you get the beans from? I do like getting whole bean coffee and grinding it myself it just seems so much fresher. I love the smell when I grind them fresh too. ~o)
