What is the best way to store coffee?

Do you freeze coffee? Do you buy coffee in small amounts each week?

I buy enough for a month. Therefore, I do not have to freeze it, which is a good thing because my freezer has enough in it as it is.

I store my whole coffee beans in the freezer. When I need more coffee, I take the beans out and grind some more. I grind enough for a week. The freshly ground coffee, I keep in an airtight container at room temperature. I find it keeps the coffee the freshest this way.

I always keep my coffee in a cupboard; I also buy the exact amount I would drink during a month - no more, no less ...I don't think storing it in a freezer is a good idea, though.

Drinking it :d ;)
Joking apart, I am storing coffee in a wooden container, in a cupboard, and never had any issue with it before.

I guess storing it in its own package is the best way of keeping your coffee fresh - just hope that coffee makers create such packaging that preserves coffee from becoming stale.

Good question, indeed. I actually buy coffee every week, in very small quantities, so that I am sure I am going to drink it till the end of the week and store it in a dry dark place, like cupboard.

I am freezing it when I have a lot. And when I buy small portions which happens less often, I store it in my cupboard - in a tin.

I tried to freeze it once but the only thing I could do with it the next morning was to prepare a coffee cake which wasn't bad at all. ;)
