Best way to clean up coffee spills?

Postby starbuck » 15 Jun 2011, 08:06

I have spilled coffee all over my computer before, and I had no idea how to clean it. Unfortunately I had to replace the keyboard since it was totally broken :(

What do you think is the best cleaner to use to clean coffee?

When I spill coffee or other liquids on my computer, I use a towel to soak up the mess. Then use a Q-tip with a little water to get in-between the keys. I wouldn’t use a cleaner; it could mess with the circuitry. Good Luck!

Whenever you spill liquid on an electronic device, unplug it immediately and take any batteries out. Let it sit in the sun or place it in a bag of rice. As long as it dries out and not too much damage to the circuity has been done you can still use it. I know Radio Shack sells a spray you can use to restore water-logged electronic components-- the same escapes me right now.

I have never cleaned my coffeemaker, and it looks almost exactly the same as it was when I first bought it. ;)

Oh my, I don't even know! I don't usually drink coffee on my desk. Try to be careful next time.

You should better buy yourself a new computer. There's no way to clean spilled coffee. :-(
