For those of you that are REALLY into coffee, Then Coffee Technology by Sivetz is the book for you. Weighing in at 700 pages, if you don't find what you need in this book, then I think you need too much. This book covers it all.

I gave the book a look and I don't think it is something I would read cover to cover but I have to admit it has some incredible stuff in it plus some really nice pictures as well. I never knew there was so much to learn about coffee.

I've just done a quick Google search for this book. It seems to have been written almost fifty years ago and Amazon is out of stock apart from a couple of used ones for $220 !!!! I don't think I'm about to pay this much, no matter how good it is!

700 pages? Sounds like 'War and Peace' by Leo Tolstoy, huh

It is really amazing that a book written in 1963 still contains useful information on drying the grain, psychrometric charts, roasting coffee, percolation, aromatizing soluble coffee, packaging roast coffee. Allthough it was written over 27 years ago, the information is valid because the markets for coffee change but the physics of the process is the same.

Great book, right to the point. It doesn't really matter that it was written back in 1963, it's still timely and has a lot to tell generations ahead. I've read portions of it over the years and there is some good info in it.
