Java talked about cleaning the glass part of the coffee pot but what about the brew part. I just trashed one because no matter what I did to clean it out, it just wouldn't work. I tried vinegar at different strengths and different times and nothing worked. Anybody have any other suggestions for the future?

My coffee machine is really simple, so I can't relate to having too many areas that are hard to clean. I wouldn't think not being able to clean the part where the coffee brews would be too much of an issue since it is just hot water and fresh coffee that is passing through it?!

A mixture of 1 portion white vinegar to two parts drinking water is the best option for cleaning any coffee machine.

I absolutely agree with you, @Buzzy. Why trying to clean that part so hard when you know it doesn't harm your drink at all? Even chief cooks at restaurants use old dishes for preparing the food, and don't throw them just because they cannot clean them completely

Do you need a crystal-clear brew part? It is designed to brew coffee, and not look like a brilliant every time you drink your coffee

1 Pour 1/2 cup of baking soda into the bottom of a dry, cool coffee pot.
2 Pour distilled white vinegar over the top of the baking soda, until the baking soda is covered with vinegar.
3 Allow the chemical reaction to take place between the vinegar and baking soda, and gently swirl the mixture around in the pot to remove any stains. Use a sponge to wipe down the inside surface of the pot.
4 Pour the cleaning mixture into the sink, and wash the coffee pot with hot, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly with a lint-free towel.

Do you want it to be crystal clear? I prefer it to have more natural look - the coffee seems better in such pot

Do you really have to clean it to be 100% clean? It wouldn't work, believe me, and it doesn't even matter that much. Your coffee won't get worse because of some mug in the brew part.

I want it to be 100% clean.
